Fred Michel has hobbies - perhaps too many. Early in his life his mother introduced him to the magic (and frustration) of a Kodak box camera. Since then his interest in light and color has not waned. He still uses film (35mm) and 6x7 slides and still counts as a good roll of film one that has one interesting image.

While Fred is mainly self taught, he has gone on at least one formal workshop and several quests each year. He has had one juried show and another one is scheduled.

Though he is happiest in the field with good light, he has not given up his day job (dentist) or his other hobbies..... fly fishing, speed skating, biking, dancing, reading and playing with his two dogs, Alice and Gerty at home in Vermont.
